Warlung is a Texas rock band formed by longtime friends and brothers in 2016. Inspired by the sounds of old, they wrote heavy, catchy songs with a psychedelic twist. They knew they had to go big on 'Vulture's Paradise.' These songs found the perfect balance of a raw, live sound and psychedelia. Water From Your Eyes : Structure (white)

Water From Your Eyes' Rachel Brown and Nate Amos are no strangers to contradiction, with Pitchfork making note of their "confidence in splicing different genres and feels from acoustic twee to indie-electronica" in their review of 2019's 'Somebody Else's Songs'. 'Structure' - with its tendency to turn on a dime from the buzzsaw synths and string arrangements and Squarepusher-esque rhythms that round out electronic compositions - may just seem like a further refinement of the duo's idiosyncratic approach to making music. However, repeat listens will reveal that, even though the album zigs and zags in a manner consistent with their prior releases, its line of best fit trends in a very clear direction away from the quaint affectations of their prior work and towards something more deliberate and half a shade darker. Wati Watia Zorey Band : Deliryom

A violin, a fife, and the endless sky opens up to us. Two voices cross it, a duet of swallows playing their perpetual encounters, joined by percussion that crashes like waves on jagged coasts. This is the opening of the album 'Déliryom,' the beginning of this "watia watia" - meaning joyful mess or tasty mishmash, opened by six "zoreys": in Réunion Island Creole, it means metropolitan people from France. But these zoreys claim their creolity as a family of the heart, a chosen homeland. And they celebrate it. Rosemary Standley (Moriarty) and Marjolaine Karlin met at a concert where Réunionese maloya was resounding in Paris. It was in 2008, and their fascination for the island, its rhythms, its language born for poetry was bound to bring them together. A character too, a majestic poet and celestial wanderer, who for them would be a spiritual father - Alain Peters. Or rather his ghost, since he died in 1995 of a heart attack, leaving behind a daughter and some twenty songs that have shaped a fertile horizon for all the musicians of Réunion Island... and elsewhere! Six years after giving birth to their first album ('Zanz In Lanfèr,' 2016), the two singers continue this great journey, exploring other pieces forged over the years, always alongside percussionist and rhythm doctor Salvador Douézy, and new zoreys who have joined them. There is Gérald Chevillon, who plays bass saxophone, Chadi Chouman as a guitarist who has no equal in awakening the colors of his native East, and finally Jennifer Hutt, whose energetic violin evokes the Cajun colors of New Orleans. For even if this new album tells of other facets of the Peters totem, it also ventures towards other Creole lands, other islands where music and song are much more than entertainment: they are a way of being in the world.

Repress. Following his tenure fronting British psychedelic rock act The Web, who cut a couple of likeable albums featuring his bluesy, soulful lead, US-born vocalist Mississippi John L. Watson went solo, working with Pete Wingfield on his 1970 debut, 'White Hot Blue Black.' Superior sophomore set 'Let's Straighten It Out' was released on Bob Kingston's Spark label in 1975 and credited to John L. Watson with White Mouse, with Watson headed in a funk direction; along with the potent title track, there's a fine cut of Gwen McCrae's 'Rockin' Chair,' making the set a sure-fire winner for Watson fans and lovers of British funk and soul.

Weathers, Roscoe : I'll remember

Overlooked by all but the tiniest of record labels, Weathers' released much of his material himself in the past. A multi-instrumentalist, Weathers mainly led on the flute in his recorded tracks. The music on this release spans the course of the 1960's, and moves from laidback beatnik jazz styles through to percussion-based Afro-Latin influences. Finally there shines a much deserved light on this enigmatic and largely unheralded musician for the first time.

His musicality has been heavily inspired and shaped by exploring different places and cultures, including Brazil, Africa and the USA, as well as his experiences making a home in various European countries. Wegmüller, Walter : Tarot (2lp)

A 2LP set on 180 gram black vinyl. Includes all assets of the original boxset: with cards of the participating artists, explanatory text and the tarot cards, which are treated musically in the album. Walter Wegmüller (1937-2020) was a Swiss-Jenish artist who gained widespread international attention, especially from 1974 onwards, with the publication of his 'Zigeuner Tarot.' In 1973 he released the album 'Tarot' with an all-star band featuring Klaus Schulze, Manuel Göttsching, Harald Grosskopf, Dieter Dierks, Hartmut Enke, Jürgen Dollase and Walter Westrupp. It remained Walter Wegmüller's only foray into the world of music. The album was last released on vinyl in 1976, and on CD in 2000. This version is the first remastered version ever.

Recorded at Channel One and Randy's with a mix done at King Tubby's. 'Love Train' highlights The Revolutionaries 'rockers' sound and is a 'showcase' album which means the corresponding dub follows each vocal track. The album contains the original vocal cut of 'West Man Rock' which was dee-jay'ed over by Ken Quatty under the same title, plus some outstanding Revolutionaries dubs of Jerry's vocal tracks. 'Love Train', was originally issued by Burning Sounds' sub-label Burning Rockers on red vinyl in 1979. Burning Sounds have on this reissue album kept the original colour and label.

Continuing this super productive year for the Feral Child label, the label releases an absolute peach here. Four totally whacked out, deep cuts that defy any hopes of genre pigeonholing; a deliciously dazzling moulding of ambitious grooves and ideas from the wonderful Wet Tuna. Never short on dizzying ambition, Feral Child described it as a 'Space Dub Psych Disco collision' on an Instagram post and that kinda holds true a few days on here. Fabulously bonkers and groovy in equal measure, this one comes hugely recommended. Wet Tuna feature Matt (MV) Valentine & Erika (EE) Elder alongside Jim Bliss, Woods' Jeremy Earl and on this record, Myriam Gendron. They've left it to Matt to offer up the introductory words: "Wet Tuna specializes in homegrown, dubwise psychedelia. Exploration is paramount. You have a third ear? Probably if you are that kind, that's spectrasound. They never do it the same way twice. 'Party In The House' features Myriam Gendron and has poetry penned by Benoit Chaput of L'Oie De Cravan. Samara Lubelski rips some electric violin, Jeremy Earl from Woods/Woodsist rides some golden tones singing harmony. Wet Tuna also has minor outlying islands, handmade things.
