After thirteen years of hibernation, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, release their fourth studio album 'Of The Last Human Being'. The band comprises of multi-instrumentalists and vocalists Nils Frykdahl, Carla Kihlstedt, Michael "Iago" Mellender, Matthias Bossi and Dan Rathbun. The members play an arsenal of instruments ranging from standard (drums, electric guitars, bass, electric violin) to the rare (bass harmonica, nyckelharpa, marxophone) to some homemade ones. The group has consistently evaded easy categorization, garnering accolades from across the aisles of contemporary classical music, prog rock, industrial music, metal, avant-garde improvisation and more. Los Angeles Free Music Society (LAFMS) formed in the mid-1970s as a loose-knit experimental music collective and multimedia publishing vehicle. Founded by teenage Le Forte Four members Chip Chapman, Joe Potts and Rick Potts and soon joined by Tom Recchion of Doo-Dooettes, LAFMS incorporated free improvisation, modular synthesizers, tape music, sampling, musique concrète, homemade instruments, noise, mail art and avant-rock in permissive and anarchic sessions at the Raymond Building and Poo-Bah Record Shop in old Pasadena. Inspired by The Residents, LAFMS self-released records and periodicals, organized performances and connected with fellow outsiders via post in the years before punk. Their uninhibited, egalitarian ideal of music-making and DIY distribution would influence generations of underground artists. Poo-Bah Records, with its import bins and backroom jam space, attracted the pseudonymous artists forming the initial incarnation of long-running collective Smegma. Early members Ju Suk Reet Meate, Dennis Duck, Cheez-it Ritz, Big Dirty, Amazon Bambi and Dr. Id contributed to various LAFMS compilations and combinations before several core members relocated to Portland, Oregon in 1975, where they recorded their debut album 'Glamour Girl 1941.' Originally released on the LAFMS label in 1979, the LP combines rock instrumentation with tape, synthesizer, horns and voice in a tempestuous cauldron of anti-academy improv and alien noise. Beyond its roots in LAFMS, Smegma would help shape the early Portland punk scene in the late '70s alongside Wipers and Neo Boys. In more recent years, they have collaborated with Merzbow and Wolf Eyes. This first-time vinyl reissue is limited to 500 numbered copies. Comes with insert.

Recorded back in 2006 and hidden up until now. Swedish retro rockers Solarius' masterpiece 'Universal Trial' is now brought to daylight with this release. '70s groovy hard blues rock with a psychedelic twist and featuring Jonatan Ramm of Graveyard fame (before joining that band). Hard, groovy, soft and fuzzy sound that brings you back to the early '70s. The songs were recorded in Don Pierre Studios in Gothenburg produced by the legendary Don Alsterberg (Graveyard etc). The master tapes were forgotten but are now found and released on Heavy Psych Sounds Records. The recording is 100% analogue and recorded and mixed on tape. The songs get their magic from a beautiful mix of groove, melodies, fuzzy hard rock and dreamful psych prog rock influences. Limited to 100 copies on striped (gold, clear, blue) vinyl.

With members spread out across New Orleans, Los Angeles, Portland and San Antonio, Somnus Throne is a heavy and psychedelic doom band that pays homage to legends such as Sleep, High On Fire and Pentagram. The music is a mixture of psychedelic groove, rock, funk, and doom metal. For fans of Cactus, Grand Funk Railroad, Mountain, Sir Lord Baltimore, Captain Beyond, The Meters, Graham Central Station and Funkadelic. On the album you can find four original songs plus two cover tracks: 'Earthquake' from Graham Central Station and 'Stay Away' from The Meters.

Sonic Flower : Sonic flower (splatter)

Sonic Flower were formed as a side project of Church Of Misery in 2001. Tatsu Mikami (bass) and at that time Church's guitarist Takenori Hoshi (guitar on Church Of Misery's second album 'The Second Coming'), teamed up to play more bluesy and non doomy instrumental heavy rock. They were influenced by famous '70s heavy rock bands like Cactus, Grand Funk Railroad, Groundhogs, Savoy Brown etc. Soon guitarist Arisa and drummer Keisuke Fukawa joined the band. In 2003, they released their self titled debut album on Japanese heavy rock label Leafhound Records. All instrumental bluesy heavy rock and improvised double guitar, they got a tons of good response from all over the world. They also played some shows as support for some foreign band's Japan appearances like Electric Wizard, Bluebird (Amen's side project), Acid King etc. Limited to 150 copies on clear orange with red splatter vinyl.
