Welcome to the debut album by Richard Olson & The Familiars, an LP full of dreamy harmony laden melancholy and, dare we say it, singer songwriter pop music - though pop music in the sense that each track is a gorgeous ear worm that you can wrap yourself in and within. Richard was a member of the now-legendary Eighteenth Day Of May, before forming The See See who would then evolve into the much loved and revered The Hanging Stars. On Richard's debut LP we are treated to a record full of lush harmonies, acoustic guitars and strings as well as Richard's most personal and reflective writing, songs that are full of a hazy warmth and yearning that superbly capture the feel and sound that lies somewhere between The Byrds (think 'Easy Rider') and The Clientele. The plaintive gorgeousness of opening track 'I Can't Help Myself' reflects the heart-rending, deep feeling that flows throughout the whole of Richard Olsen and The Familiars debut LP. Richard has a great, expressive voice, capable of switching from harmonious and melodic to world-weary within a single song. Air is especially affecting and effective - gorgeously near-ambient kaleidoscope vibe of whispered vocals with pedal steel and slide guitar. 'I'm A Butterfly' blends a sumptuous bouncy riff with harmonica and tambourines into a hazy dream of pop perfection. 'Inside Sunshine' is the perfect song to close the LP, lilting into the sunset as Richard creates an wonderous retro hued filter - a filmic paean to love with Luke Barlow's flute playing adding to the trance created.

Reissue of stunning private press album from 1981 by Minas Gerais singer-songwriter Fernando Oly. Oly is a musician who was part of Lô Borges' band and took part in the recording of the album 'Via Láctea' in 1979. He placed one of his compositions among the album's tracks: 'Chuva Na Montanha,' of which the original version was also included on 'Tempo Prá Tudo.' Licensed by Fernando Oly. This deluxe edition comes on 180gr vinyl in hard cardboard cover with obi, a replica of the original insert and a download card.

Omicil, Jowee : Spiritual healing: bwa kayiman freedom suite (2lp)

Joseph Omicil, Jr, a.k.a. Jowee Omicil, is a Haitian-Canadian jazz musician. He has worked in the past with artists such as Roy Hargrove, Pharoah Sanders, Tony Allen, Kenny Garrett, Jacob Desvarieux, Glen Ballard, Harold Faustin, Michel Martell, etc. He hosted Quincy Jones' 85th birthday celebration at Montreux Festival. He also starred in the Netflix series 'The Eddy,' produced by Damien Chazelle, and 'Le Temps D'Aimer,' directed by Katell Quillévéré (Cannes Festival 2023). The Bois-Caïman ceremony was Haiti's first major collective uprising against slavery. On his album, 'SpiriTuaL HeaLinG: Bwa KaYimaN FreeDoM SuiTe,' Jowee performs his ancestors' revolution in his own way. Jowee brought together all his inner tubes - soprano, alto, tenor, wood, clarinets, piccolo lute, cornet - that blow, that make wind, that rumble. This record is an incantation, a therapy, it cleanses the world by drawing on the fantasized memory of the Haitian revolution. There are Freedom Suites by Sonny Rollins, Max Roach and others. Prayer music, music to break the chains in your head and on your wrists, music of black power and white magic. For Jowee, a kid from Montréal, son of a Haitian pastor, who sang Jesus in all the tones, and then Michael Jackson, and then 2Pac, who learned jazz from Ornette Coleman, the ceremony necessarily has the taste of free. This record is a healing hour-long improvisation.

Omnia Moritur is a Norwegian/Swedish band that delves into the most bottomless pits of darkness and death, blending traditional orchestrations with ripping death metal, polyrhythmic and somber elements of doom. The lyrics explore the concepts of dying, madness, despair, questioning deities, and evoking the horrors and monsters of the mind. Onhou was founded in 2016 and consists of previous and current members of Ravenwiek, Grinding Halt and Ortega. Rooted in Groningen, Onhou embodies their northern heritage by mixing desolate sludgy doom riffs with miserable post-metal atmospheres, embracing the sinister history of the soil that made them. After releasing their first EP 'Onhou' in 2018 on Tartarus Records and their first full length 'Endling' on Lay Bare Recordings and Tartarus Records in 2019, Onhou established themselves as one of the heaviest bands in the northern Dutch territories. Bolstering their hypnotising riffs, condemning synths and battering drums, Onhou's sophomore release 'Monument' sees the band building from the wreckage left in the wake of their debut album 'Endling.' Whereas the band intended for their debut to be uncomfortable, 'Monument'drags you ever deeper into dark, withering worlds where time is gruesome and unforgiving, and the echoes of what once was have long since been lost and forgotten.
