In the spring of 1962 the Beatles were heroes in Liverpool, buttheir first ever radio session was recorded in Manchester. Oneevening in March they performed three cover versions, whichwere broadcast on the BBC's Light Programme the followingafternoon. Three months later - just after their first EMI session - they appeared on the same show, this time performing a Lennon-McCartney original, 'Ask Me Why' - the first of their songs to be broadcasted. By then, drummer Pete Best's days with the group were numbered, making the recordings presented herea fascinating time capsule. Background notes and images areincluded.

Beatles : From london to paris 1964

Presented on this LP are recordings of the Fab Four's January 12th, 1964 appearance at the prestigious 'Sunday Night At The London Palladium' TV show and, few days later, at the Cinéma Cyrano in Versailles and L'Olympia in Paris. The sound quality of the French recordings (for ORTF radio and TV) is excellent, but the London Palladium set, recorded direct off air, isn't great. Expect renditions of hits s.a. 'From Me To You', 'She Loves You', 'This Boy', 'I Want To Hold Your Hand', 'All My Loving', 'Twist And Shout', 'I Saw Her Standing There' and many more.
