Officially the latest album released by the British super group, 'Lows & Highs' is the triumphant epilogue to these fascinating adventure in rhythm. Featuring vocals from Crucial Tony and Lizard Logan this is probably the most straight ahead reggae album in their whole discography. Producer Adrian Sherwood is in charge behind the desk while Style Scott, Eskimo Fox and Donald Campbell bring all their potential efforts on the drums. Deadly Headley and Dave 'Flash' Wright are the top horn section here. The album features the bonus track 'Read And Learn' from the 1982 single 'Love I Can Feel.' A must have for any English dub worshipper.

Dadawah : Peace and love - wadadasow

Michael George Henry (a.k.a. Ras Michael and, for this lone release, Dadawah) was born in 1943 in Saint Mary Parish, in northeastern Jamaica. Henry was raised in a Rastafari community when the religious movement was still in its infancy and marginalized within Jamaica. It was there that he began performing Nyahbinghi, the Rastafarian devotional music that combines the influences of African drumming and Black gospel. Originally released in 1974 and now back on vinyl, 'Peace And Love - Wadadasow' is Dadawah's magnum opus. Produced by Lloyd Charmers, the album features slinky basslines, wah-wah guitar, hypnotic keyboards, dubbed-out studio trickery and, of course, the propulsive drumming and rhythmic chanting characteristic of Nyahbinghi.

Nkrumah "Jah" Thomas hails from Kingston in Jamaica and was a DJ and producer who came to fame in the 1970s, during the gene's heyday. He set up his own labels Midnight Rock and Nura and this dub album catches him at the peak of his powers. There is plenty of air and room in each of these tracks, meaning you get drawn right in and left to marvel at the horns, the glistening bells and the rich, endless echo. It's one for the head as much as anything else and provides endless hours of smoking soundtrack material.
