Bees Made Honey In The Vein Tree is a psychedelic/doom/shoegaze band from Stuttgart, Germany. Founded in 2014, the contrast between bright and eerie, beautiful and heavy, quickly became an inseparable part of their sound. Their compositions combine crushing doom riffs with spherical shoegaze, post- and psychedelic rock. Underneath swims a layer of heavily reverberated vocals, that act as an additional instrument but also add a visual layer through the lyrics. In 2017 they released their debut record, which provides a diverse listening-experience and lays the groundwork for their continually evolving sound. On 'Grandmother' on which they expanded their sound through lower tunings, a densely layered use of effects, and faster passages.

We play heavy soulful rock with Swedish lyrics. With our feet deeply planted in a muddy, bubbling blues & heavy classic rock mould, we try to create music in our beautiful native tongue paying tribute to the classical recipes as many others have tried before us. A certain Laplandish melancholy, a gust of the original Swedish prog cosiness, and a decisive nod to the best of the meaty rock acts of the 70s, is the foundation and essence of what were aiming to create. A genuine, honest music, that we, and hopefully you - our audience - can live with in these otherwise so meagre times. Influences: bands such as Mountain, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and that bunch o' heavy 70's rock groups, but also bands from the Swedish scene, like Abramis Brama,Svarte Pan, November, Magnolia and such. And of course - inspiration is born from other things than music as well.

The Stockholm trio's eponymous 2018 full-length is just about as good as it gets for all the groove it's giving. As the record spins, its hypnotic gaze takes us back through the maze of time, surrounding us in the electrically charged haze of the feel good era. It sounds for all the world like this could be a contemporary of Ozzy and the boys, though it never condescends to full-on Sabbath worship. No, Hazemaze has found their own way, niching somewhere between the early styles of doom that manifested on both sides of the Atlantic, though I hasten to add "slow, blues-infused hard rock" might be a better descriptor than straight-up "heavy metal." That is, unless this exciting release had come out in the seventies. Back then, it would have been considered the epitome of heavy metal, just as Zeppelin and Priest were in teenage years. Capturing this authentic a sound and making it so alive, so vibrant, so now... well, that is no small feat. Limited to 150 copies on white/red/purple vinyl.
