World Circuit is celebrating Record Store Day (22nd April 2017) with the release of a 10 inch vinyl EP of classic tracks by Inna Baba Coulibaly, the legendary Fula singer. The songs were recorded over forty years ago at the studios of Radio Mali in Bamako and feature the great Malian guitarist, Ali Farka Toure. They’ve seldom been heard outside Mali until now. Inna Baba was a regular visitor to the Bamako home of Amadou Djeli Ba, a fellow native of Dilly and master of the ngoni or traditional lute. It was there that she met Ali Farka Toure who was already famous thanks to his regular broadcasts on Radio Mali. It took her some time to overcome her shyness and come out from behind the door where she would hide, singing the songs softly to herself while the two great musicians played together. After a while, Ali Farka Toure suggested they all go to the Radio Mali studio and record a few songs. This EP is the result of those recordings - a priceless snapshot of three Malian legends in their prime. With only 2000 physical copies in global circulation, this four-track 10 inch vinyl comes in a die-cut retro sleeve with a four page colour booklet: a truly limited edition release.

In November 1965, Jack Bruce briefly stood in for John McVie on bass in John Mayall´s Bluesbreakers, making a lasting impression on Eric Clapton, who later said of Bruce, ‘it was his obvious desire to make the most out of every musical opportunity.... The music, and the experience of playing it, took me to another dimension’. This line-up recorded a live album at the Flamingo, which was scrapped because the quality of the tape was poor. Here though is aural evidence of their early collaboration from a 1965 radio broadcast. Side One: Hideaway (King), Little Girl (Mayall), Side Two: Tears In My Eyes (Mayall), Parchman Farm (Allison).

Limited to 500 / Picture disc. Christopher Lee recorded this release at the age of 92. This Extended Play Vinyl is appropriately called 'Metal Knight'. Sir Christopher was well-known for his devotion to fantasy and heavy metal themes, with several album releases and collaborations in the genre to his name. Having started his second career working with the Italian Symphonic Metal band 'Rhapsody of Fire' over a decade ago .I associate heavy metal with fantasy because of the tremendous power that the music delivers". The star of 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'Star Wars' sagas inspired generations of artists, with his dark, yet elegant portrayals back in the late 50's and 60's. His interpretation of 'Dracula', is considered by many to be the quintessential. 'The Wicker Man' and 'The Man with the Golden Gun', being other movies which inspired metal songs. In June 2010, he received the 'Spirit of Metal' at the 'Golden Gods Awards' from Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath) for his work in 'Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross' and his contribution to metal themes on the silver screen. In Christmas 2013, his rendition of 'Jingle Hell' (Bells) achieved number 18 in the Billboard Charts, making him the oldest performer (91) ever to chart. 'Metal Knight' is an EP featuring 4 tracks, two of which are covers from the 'Man of La Mancha' musical, based on the character 'Don Quixote'. As far as I am concerned, Don Quixote is the most metal fictional character that I know. Single handed, he is trying to change the world, regardless of any personal consequences. House Of Joy was the name used in Jamaica for the the large wooden speakers that powered the early dancehalls. This box set contains fifteen rare Studio One singles as well as a poster, booklet, 45 adapter and a keychain, and is compiled from the extensive Studio One catalog to honor the pioneering Jamaican soundman Clement Dodd who started recording in the early 1950's. Featuring singles with the original labels this collection mines the rich history of Studio One and is a true testimony of the label's greatness.

Come to the Sunshine: Soft Pop Nuggets from the WEA Vaults is a 2004 compilation album released by Rhino Handmade, one of two new compilations using the Nuggets name.
