Electric Orange : Patchwork 1996-99

1996 to 1999 was a weird time for Electric Orange. It was the time of trip hop, electro, drum'n'bass and big beat, styles they already introduced on 'Cyberdelic' and before. Most of the music was made electronically with analogue synthesizers, samplers, Atari ST and the mixing was always live and analogue. At this time digital recording was still very expensive and they didn't own any analogue multitrack recorder anymore, so it was a natural move for them to produce like this. Many tracks are previous unreleased and some of this music was already released on some CDRs about 20 years ago in very limited editions. These tracks always felt like just raw material, so they had the idea to compile an album of the best parts. All you can hear was done in 1996 to 1999, no remixing or re-recording took place. All they did, was to edit most of the tracks and combine all these bits a continuous mix - like a weird audio movie that could have been the lost album from that era.

Electric Orange : Misophonia

The 11th full-length by the highly regarded neo-Krautrock act. Though recorded with a broad range of vintage instruments from the '60s and '70s, on 'Misophonia' Electric Orange steps into the modern age. Pure neo Krautrock of the highest order!

Electric Swan : Swirl in gravity

ELECTRIC SWAN is a solo project by WICKED MINDS guitarist and founding member, LUCIO CALEGARI. First album was recorded in 2008 and released by BAD CHILI RECORDS, a young indie label and distributed worldwide from Black Widow Records. After the release of the first album, Electric Swan play at Burg Herzberg Festival (Germany) and Crescendo Festival (France) in 2009 with Joe Bonamassa, Derek Trucks Band, Eric Burdon, Gong and others. In 2010 the new band Edo Giovanelli (bass), Marco"Dipu" Barbieri (drums), Paolo"Apollo" Negri (organ & synths) and Monica Sardella (vocals) began Swirl in Gravity recordings with Clive Jones (flute and Sax of legendary Black Widow) as guest. 'RA' was the beginning of a new era for Germany's most successful art and progressive rock band Eloy. The formation before had completely separated. Band founder Frank Bornemann, as a singer, guitarist, songwriter and at the same time the band's producer, was still brimming with ideas with which he wanted to continue on the hitherto successful path. In keyboard player Michael Gerlach he finally found a like-minded partner. With 'RA' Eloy turned to a topic that, from today's perspective, has to be viewed as almost prophetic in view of the fatal developments on the planet and in society. The scenario on the album, which is ultimately defined and reflected in the core content of 'RA', still exceeds some of the boundaries of today's events, but that doesn't make it any less exciting, and the music is definitely absolutely unique.

Embryo : Apo-calypso

Back then the tenth Embryo LP, recorded in India in 1976 and in Switzerland in 1977, was released in 1978 on the April label. Again in the well-known Embryo style: progressive jazz-rock with strong world music influences and only occasional vocals. The vinyl has never been reissued, there was a CD edition in 1999 on Disconforme, but it has long since been out of print. The first bonus track is from the 1977 Swiss recording session, but remained unreleased at the time. The second is from the live LP 'Umsonst & Draußen - Vlotho 1976', the third track (whilst under a different title) comes from the live LP 'Umsonst & Draußen - Porta Westvlothica 78'.

The story of Epitaph begins in the winter of 1969/70 in Dortmund club "Fantasio", where British musician Cliff Jackson (vocals, guitar), James McGillivray (drums) and bassist Bernd Kolbe practiced and worked on their program, whilst performing weekly at Fantasio amongst the likes of Black Sabbath, Rory Gallagher, Yes and Argent. Producer Günter Boas saw the potential of this band and it didn't take long for Epitaph to sign their first contract with Polydor, and recorded their self-titled album which was released in autumn 1971. This was followed by 'Stop Look And Listen' in April 1972.

Formerly Fat Harry : Formerly fat harry

Formerly Fat Harry was formed in 1969 in London by US expats Gary Peterson (vocoals, guitar), Phil Greenberg (vocals and guitar) and Bruce Barthol (bass, ex-Country Joe And The Fish) with saxophonist George Khan (previously of Battered Ornaments) and Laurie Allen (drums). Now reissued on CD, their sole album is a nicely arranged delivery of psychedelic country and folk rock that's heavily inspired by American west-coast sounds.
