The Georgian singer/songwriter and rock poet Nash Albert was the frontman of the successful Soviet alternative/indie band Blast (Blast Unit Moscow), followed by Salamandra, which broke up in 1994. In 2019, his old bandmates from Salamandra started composing and arranging song material for a solo album by Nash Albert. Nash's co-author Ric Berie also joined the team, as did British producer Tim Palmer, who also produced Robert Plant, Tears For Fears, Bowie's Tin Machine, Texas and Tarja Turunen. This is how 'Yet' became the result.

The electronic musician Wolfgang Bock comes from Klaus Schulze's environment and his 1980 debut 'Cycles' is not only strongly influenced by him and the Berlin School, Klaus Schulze also produced this debut. 2 years later, Bock released a maxi single with four tracks, 'Helicopter,' under the pseudonym Paul Flieger, on which he experimented with the Neue Deutsche Welle and mixed the heaviness of the Berlin School with the lightness of the Düsseldorf School. Three more albums followed on Sky in the 1990s, then Wolfgang Bock actively withdrew from the music scene. 'Cycles' was re-released in 2022, and it was for Wolfgang reason enough to go back into the studio and produce complete new works on 'Mintaka', the first album in more than 26 years.

German Krautrock band Bröselmaschine, founded in 1968, gave its reunion concert in 2021, while the pandemic affected the entire cultural scene. As spectators were not allowed to visit concerts, the WDR Rockpalast organizers came with its series "Offstage". Bröselmaschine was one of the bands to perform on this program and they played almost exclusively songs from their last studio album 'Elegy' from 2019 as well as the title track of the predecessor 'Indian Camel', closing with the Marc Bolan cover of 'Children Of The Revolution'.

In contrast to the latter official live album, Cale's performance at Rockpalast was far more intense, desperate and unbridled. To this day, this performance represents one of the most remarkable and spectacular concerts in the history of Rockpalast. In sharp, charming contrast to this concert however, is his solo concert, which was recorded in the Zeche in Bochum on March 6, 1983, showing an introverted musician: a man and his guitar and piano captivate with the best songs of his career. In 1974 Willy DeVille founded Mink DeVille in San Francisco. The band moved to New York and became the house band of the legendary CBGB club. The band had their international breakthrough in 1977 with the hit 'Spanish Stroll'. Several albums followed, the critics cheered, but unfortunately the broad success did not materialize. The band Mink DeVille broke up, Willy DeVille moved to New Orleans and started his solo career. In 2007/2008, Willy DeVille recorded his last studio album, 'Pistola', and toured again with the Mink DeVille Band to promote the album. On February 27, 2008 they performed at Bremen's Pier 2, while Radio Bremen was there to record the concert. It appeared to be Willy's last tour, as he had been diagnosed with cancer soon after. Willy DeVille died on August 6, 2009, a few days before his 59th birthday.

Duren, Wolfgang : Eyeless dreams
Wolfgang Düren played guitar in various local bands in the 1970's, but soon became more and more interested in electronic music. From 1978 he was a roadie for Tangerine Dream for three years, traveling the world with them and programming their sequencers. In the 1980's he worked for the Hamburg musician and inventor Wolfgang Palm and his company PPG (Palm Products Germany), which is primarily responsible for the development of the revolutionary digitally controlled PPG-Wave. In 1988 Wolfgang Düren became self-employed and founded the company Waldorf Electronics, with which he continued to use wavetable synthesis after the closure of PPG in 1987. Hiphop artist Eminem used samples from Wolfgang Düren's track 'Eyeless Dreams I' for his song 'Evil Twin' from the 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2' album from 2013.

Elmulab : Microprocessor 8080a
Elmulab was comprised of Munich composer, musician and visual artist Klaus Netzle (a.k.a. Claude Larsen) and Munich film composer, arranger and musician Gerhard "Delle" Haensch (a.k.a. Manuel Landy). From the mid-1970's, Klaus Netzle became interested in electronic music and purchased one of the most advanced synthesizers back then, the Roland 700. Together with other vintage equipment it formed the basis for Netzle's studio for electronic music, Elmulab ("Electronic Music Laboratory"). In 1979 Netzle produced the album 'Microprocessor 8080A' together with Gerhard Haensch, which was published by Metronome in 1980 and has remained the only sound recording of the Elmulab project to this day. Now, after more than four decades, this groundbreaking work of electronic music is finally available, fully remastered on CD.

By the time then, a 'sell-out' of the Neue Deutsche Welle scene began, and it started a decline in their populatirity. Not long after the release of the album 'Ausradiert' in 1983, the band made their farewell tour. This CD+DVD set captures the band live at Rockpalast in 1980.

Paris-born Teddy Lasry was a member of the experimental French progressive rock band Magma. With Magma, Lasry recorded the very successful albums 'Magma', '2' (originally "1001 Centigrades") and 'Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh', which became the band's commercial breakthrough. But Teddy Lasry left the band before they went back into the studio for 'Köhntarkösz' in 1974. The multi-instrumentalist aimed for a solo career, signed a record deal with RCA in Paris and released the highly acclaimed album 'E=mc2' in 1976. In addition to bassist Jannick Top (also Magma) and drummer Andre Ceccarelli, Lasry played almost all the instruments on the atmospheric electronic album himself, in the tradition of Mike Oldfield. After more than forty years, there is finally a re-release of this French masterpiece of electronic music for the first time on CD.

Conny Plank, who also played on several Cluster albums, completed the quartet on guitar, keyboards and vocals. The work on the 'The Dark Side Of The Moog' series initially began without any specific intention and was not planned as a series. Pete Namlook's influence on Klaus Schulze's entire work in the mid-'90s cannot be underestimated, because he loved exactly those elements that were less present in his own music. Namlook encouraged Schulze to return to the analog charm of his earlier albums and supported him in midifying his analog instruments, which ultimately led to the epochal Schulze album 'Are You Sequenced?' released in 1996. For Pete Namlook, Schulze's curiosity and working at eye level were one of the driving forces. More or less unplanned, 'The Dark Side Of The Moog' grew into an impressive eleven-part series between 1994 and 2008, which was only ended by the death of Pete Namlook on November 8, 2012. Even in retrospect, it is incredibly exciting to experience the rapprochement, the exchange, the growing together - but also the fruitful friction.

Melody Maker's Chris Welch raved about the band's debut of the same name, and Ariola released the album worldwide. But times were tough for musicians with musically ambitious projects when the world was into punk music. The project ended in one album into obscurity.
