Wewantsounds continues its Akiko Yano reissue programme with the release of 'Iroha Ni Konpeitou,' another superb Akiko Yano album and one of her funkiest, highlighting her unmissable singing and songwriting talents. Recorded in Tokyo and New York City, the album features a superb line up of the best musicians from both cities including Haruomi Hosono, Shigeru Suzuki, Tatsuo Hayashi, Rick Marotta and Will Lee. It sees Yano mixing Japanese pop with funk and a touch of electronics, playing a wide array of keyboards programmed by YMO synth wizard Hideki Matsutake. This is the first time the album is released outside of Japan and this deluxe CD includes remastered sound and and booklet with lyrics and full line-up.

Yawning Balch is the duo of Bob Balch of Fu Manchu and Gary Acre of Yawning Man. Balch went out to Joshua Tree for a day of jamming with the guys of Yawning Man with the intention of calling it "Yawning Balch." No riffs were planned. The band jammed for five hours and recorded enough material to fill two full-length LPs.

2023 album of the desert rock legends! 'Long Walk Of The Navajo' features Gary Arce (guitar), Bill Stinson (drums), and the return of Billy Cordell (bass). The 'Long Walk' sessions were inspired by a desert storm that hit the Joshua Tree landscape that created a dark and gloomy backdrop for the band's creativity and improvisations. 'Blood Sand' was recorded at Gary's house by Steve Kille of Dead Meadow in Oct of 2022. It was a complete improvisation. 'Long Walk Of The Navajo' and 'Respiratory Pause' were recorded at Gatos Trail Recording Studio by Dan Joeright in January of 2023. All songs mixed and mastered by Steve Kille.TRACKS:1. Yellow Sunshine Explosion was a German neo psychedelic band founded 1981 by Hans Hubert Schlexer, Thomas Peter Hopf and Georg Eckbert Schulte. Hans Hubert, at that time playing the trump, later on bass and vocals, and Thomas Hopf (drums) played music already since 1979 in various experimental- and electronic bands before George joined the band with e-guitar and vocals. First they covered songs of the 60s, later they arranged more own songs. After some official concerts and party gigs, all of a sudden in Dortmund in the mid 80s about 200 people showed up in paisley-shirts with frilly collars. Around 1984 an British/Canadian named Paul Hadley Langley showed up. His grandmother was an Iroquois, just like his haircut. With his bluesharps he then was a fix part of the band from 1988 onwards. For some gigs and some songs on the vinyl "Yellow Sunshine Explosion", recorded in 1987 in Berlin, Huggy Borchert on piano and Gerd Neumann alias "Swami Ravioli" on sitar joined the recording session. End of the 80s the three founding members moved into a renovated hog house at the city limit which formerly was a hair cutting studio and in which the wife of the hair cutter did suicide by hanging herself - but this the band get to know years later. Their style changed from the 60s garage beat to a completely own sound- and rhythm-structures, which never existed before (or later) in this way.

Outernational pop group Derya Yildirim & Grup Simsek unveil the second and final part of their double album 'Dost 1 & 2.' Once again, their subtle and groovy Anatolian psych folk sound matches the powerful quality of the songs often led by Yildirim's sublime vocals and baglama (Turkish lute). With 'Dost 2,' the band have broadened their songwriting horizons and refined their idiosyncratic arrangement skills. Most of 'Dost 2''s material was composed by the band, with two notable tracks composed by guitarist flautist Antonin Voyant whose melodic work brings the music to an unnostalgic, yet deep and meaningful place. The lyrics were penned by Derya Yildirim in collaboration with Berlin based writer Duygu Agal, adding another string to Grup Simsek's bow. Here they captured a lively, unique piece of interpretation which connects to themeaning of 'Dost' as the text inserted inside the vinyl/CD explains 'Dost' is a friend, a comrade, a brother, a sister and even more than that. 'Dost' is the connection to keep this life and world meaningful". No doubt that with 'Dost 2' Derya Yildirim & Grup Simsek will bring sounds, people and emotions together.
