2021 album by Seattle's legendary Green Pajamas! The astonishing 'Sunlight Might Weigh Even More', destined to be a landmark in their impressive discography, lands in the tradition of their classic trio of albums from the 1990s, 'Strung Behind The Sun', 'All Clues Lead To Meagan's Bed' and 'Seven Fathoms Down and Falling'. 'Sunlight Might Weigh Even More' is full of the PJ's trademark memorable melodies, exotic instruments, vocal harmonies and ringing electric guitars, with the occasional analogue synthesizer, birdsong, backwards girls' choir or London rain storm thrown in for good measure. And though there is that occasional thunder cloud and the rather dark encounter between two goth girls walking across a soccer field at dawn, the vibe here leans heavily to the sunny psych-pop that the Green Pajamas remain most associated with, even after 25 albums of remarkable diversity.

'Happy Halloween!' is the grand finale in the series of early, barely released Green Pajamas material. The original 8-song 'Happy Halloween!' cassette was released on October 20, 1984, a mere four months after the release of 'Summer Of Lust'. A stunning total of ten cassettes were made for the entire world (or West Seattle, depending on your viewpoint). Those eight songs are featured here as the current tracks 4-11 in their original order. This release includes 13 more -mostly unreleased- PJs songs, recorded in an 8-month period between 'Summer Of Lust' and their first single, 'Kim The Waitress'. Only a few tracks, like 'Thinking Only Of You', saw very limited releases on the occasional comp here and there and have been highly sought after commodities among the Pajamas collectors.

'Phantom Lake: Northern Gothic 3' is the final installment ofthe trilogy which began in 2002 with 'Northern Gothic'(Camera Obscura). It was followed up by 'Box Of Secrets:Northern Gothic 2' (Hidden Agenda) in 2007. These are the same landscapes that populated many of the songs on the two previous 'Northern Gothic' albums. The grey skies, the endless evergreens, the "black and blue moon" and "a thousand crows" which hang over small lakeside or West Coast towns populated by the lonesome, the unlucky-in-loves and even a few slightly eerie children. This is a dark album. It is about obsession and sorrow and murder and too much whisky. The characters thatpermeate these songs exist in the shadows, often in themargins of society. These lost souls of the northern gothicworld of 'Phantom Lake' remind us of what it is to be human.

Jeff Kelly and the Green Pajamas are usually associated with psychedelic rock, largely because of their paisley-guitar beginnings. So why Country? Why now? Jeff has always had a dalliance with country in his heart and in his music. Some of the songs on this CD date back as far as 1986 to his earliest home-recorded releases on Green Monkey Records, though these are brand new recordings. While most songs are new, they reflect an old-school country sensibility; they would be more at home with Hank and Johnny Cash than the country charts of today. Father Father Do You Wait recalls the country songs Jeff played with his dad, while the haunting When Good Men Go Bad stands with Kellys best.
