Abacus (the name is based on the Greek/Roman board game Abakus) is one of the legendary krautrock bands, formed in 1971. During the 1970s Abacus released four albums, the last three of which were recorded in Giorgio Moroder's "Musicland" in Munich. After a brief split-up in 1976 the members reunited in 1979 under the name of the British Abacus forefathers Grail. Their four albums have been re-released and exactly on the 50th anniversary of the band, Abacus release their album 'Highland Warrior'. It is a concept album about Robert I, the first King of Scotland.
