Lasry, Teddy : E=mc²
Paris-born Teddy Lasry was a member of the experimental French progressive rock band Magma. With Magma, Lasry recorded the very successful albums 'Magma', '2' (originally "1001 Centigrades") and 'Mekanïk Destruktïw Kommandöh', which became the band's commercial breakthrough. But Teddy Lasry left the band before they went back into the studio for 'Köhntarkösz' in 1974. The multi-instrumentalist aimed for a solo career, signed a record deal with RCA in Paris and released the highly acclaimed album 'E=mc2' in 1976. In addition to bassist Jannick Top (also Magma) and drummer Andre Ceccarelli, Lasry played almost all the instruments on the atmospheric electronic album himself, in the tradition of Mike Oldfield. After more than forty years, there is finally a re-release of this French masterpiece of electronic music for the first time on CD.

After 'Diamonds And Coal' from 2006, 'Kingdom Of Noise' was the second album by the Welsh psychedelic prog rockers Man without the involvement of an original founding member. Ray Williams and Jeff Jones left the band in 1970 and while the band carried on for some time, they disbanded in 1977. Six years later they reformed, and after the release of many live albums, brand new studio albums saw daylight.

With the Barons, the Texas guitarist John Nitzinger released a couple of singles for a smaller label in his hometown of Fort Worth in the mid-1960's. From 1968 Nitzinger went solo for the first time, with the then still quite young T-Bone Burnett as producer. In the 1980's Nitzinger founded the band PM with the drummer Carl Palmer from Emerson, Lake and Palmer and he also played guitar on Alice Cooper's 'Zipper Catches Skin' album. This CD plus DVD set captures the 2001 performance at Rockpalast after John had taken a long break from music.

The history of the successful Scottish band Runrig lasted from 1973 to 2018. The band plays rock music with strong Scottish influences, and they wrote historical Scottish lyrics and composed songs in Gaelic. Runrig were guests at the Rockpalast of the WDR three times in their career. Two of these concerts are now coming in a CD/DVD box set: on February 3, 1996 they were guests in the Düsseldorf Philippshalle, on December 15, 2001 in the Palladium in Cologne. A unique document from the history of the band, because here the band shows up again with their two front men, in 1996 with Donnie Munro, in 2001 with his successor Bruce Guthro.

Rolf Trostel, an electronic musician born in Berlin in 1956, is influenced by the "Berlin School", by Tangerine Dream from their early phase, and by Klaus Schulze. From the end of 1979 Trostel worked together with the Hamburg musician, inventor and sound inventor Wolfgang Palm (PPG) and tested the then new digital Wavecomputer 360. Rolf Trostel used the PPG Wave for his studio and live productions. In his active phase as a musician, Trostel only released four albums before disappearing from the spotlight. Here comes a re-release of his album 'Narrow Gate To Life' from 1995.
