Italian band Vis recorded these eight tracks as a self-produced demo tape with which the band secured a deal with Promosound in 1986, for a full-length that was never released. Only two tracks were used for compilation albums, in 1986 and 1987.

Visitor 2035 : Visitor 2035

In the midst of the punk and new wave movement in London in the late 1970s, American keyboardist, songwriter and arranger Craig Pruess burst with his ambitious project Visitor 2035, a unique mixture of jazz, progressive rock and electronics. Melody Maker's Chris Welch raved about the band's debut of the same name, and Ariola released the album worldwide. But times were tough for musicians with musically ambitious projects when the world was into punk music. The project ended in one album into obscurity. Now after more than four decades, the album will finally be available again, with all audio remastered. A must for fans of fusion, enriched with a very own mixture of spacy electronic and progressive rock elements.

"Modes Réels Collectifs" is the first work published in 1981 under the unique banner Vivenza, after he performed in the bands Glace (1976) and Mécanique Populaire (1979). It must be seen as a kind of genuine Manifesto that will then become emblematic of all his work. By suggesting to us, on a philosophical as well as sonorous point of view, an idea of opening to the real directly inspired from the futuristic theories, Vivenza was then presenting to us what he brought from his relationship with the machines and with the sound of the factories, to make us penetrate the brutal concrete of the heavy industry world, that's to say according to his Modes rels collectifs of existence. This album, by virtue of its initial founder characteristic from 1981, shows this concern about participating to the interaction of the energy of the future, to the reciprocal mediation linked to the productive activity of the world. Like Vivenza will say: By the process of working and through the strengths of work, in the sonorous magma of the industrial society, at the heart of the forges and weirs, of the rolling mills and power stations, reactors and artificial intelligence, nature reveals its dynamic characteristic. The power of machines, and of industry in general, are the truth of the world. Thus, industry and technique are what we could call the principle of any reality, because, like the futurists said accurately: "the machine is indeed the richest symbol of the mysterious human creator strength". Void Generator : Collision ep

The ep opens with ' Stretched Sunlight ' , a long ride that starts with an oriental tampura and harmonium mood in your face . Some tablas following marking a rhythm that are underlined by a very dark bass guitar , and on which various instruments agitate in various ways . 'Out' guitars , nervous clarinet , modern jazz piano . Despite the length of the song, this is renewed with every personal intervention of the various musicians who accompany the basis quartet of Void Generator . Synth , noise s and other effects grow up to a kind of turning point that ended with an unexpected textbook performance rock guitar solo . The fade out is a gem not to be missed . The second track , Collision , is instead a totally improvised live groove of space/ psychedelic edge that points to something typical of the seventies , with a variety of dynamic movements . A praise to the Void who have the boldness played live , they can afford it .

Here's a remastered CD-reissue of the 1978 LP 'SlightsSpoken', expanded with rare bonus tracks. Voigt/465 was an interesting underground band from Sydney, formed in 1976 and influenced by a.o. Syd Barrett, Velvet Underground, The Stooges, kraut heroes s.a. Can and Faust, and groundbreaking '70s acts s.a. Slapp Happy, Eno-era Roxy Music, Henry Cow and Pere Ubu. The LP was recorded shortly before bass player Lindsay O'Meara decided to join Crime & The City Solution.

Fanatically adored by some and downright despised by many in a highly verbal way, this form of mostly static and deep, crunching noise is certain to provoke at least some kind of reaction. Within the field of HNW, one of the few projects that surpasses most others in terms of recognition (and supposedly relevance) is Vomir. This full-length album (with a running-time of 72 minutes such classification is to be taken literally) was recorded live in 2013.

Playing rich original compositions, this Quartet draw freely on Greek and Balkan folk sources, jazz and the classical makams of the near East. Returning to ancient Greek modes such as Dorian, Phrygian and Lydian, a fresh perspective is brought to the modal style that was popularised by Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Herbie Hancock. Expertly versed in musical theory, the pioneering jazz players that adapted these modes for the new jazz of the late 1950s and 1960s worked in full knowledge of their ancient Greek historical origins. The musical freedom offered by these ancient scales helped them take their music to a higher level as they laid the groundwork for the spiritual moment in jazz. On 'Sketching The Unknown', the Sokratis Votskos Quartet brings that process full circle, linking today's jazz back to the ancient modes and microtonal folk music of Greece and the Near East. Deep modal jazz sounds from an ancient source.

Like Moses raising his arms, like the call of fallen angels, they summon on this album the spirits of Jeffrey Lee Pierce from the Gun Club, the outlawed and feverish greasers of the fifties, as well as the acid rock heroes. Thank you, ma'am!'Keep On Falling' was recorded in their secret batcave, located near the entrance of the Porte d'Aubervilliers on the dark border of the 18th arrondissement of Paris, evoking the apocalyptic universe of the film 'Rue Barbare' (1984). One can notice a slight change in direction compared to their first album, perhaps with fewer club influences. In a macabre dance between shadow and light, each track on the album reveals an unexpected depth, inviting the listener to plunge into an enchanting trance. This work is more mature and fluid than their first opus, and Vox Low merges genres to create an enchanting blend of soaring krautrock, funereal post-punk, hazy dub, and minimalist rock'n'roll. While the tone may seem to harden, these scoundrels also appear in a more pop and strangely brighter light.
