The historic Buchla 100 series modular synthesizer was built by Don Buchla in California in early 1960's. An instrument intended for electronic music performance that together with the Moog Modular is one of the most important synthesizers in the history of electronic music. One of the few still fully functional Buchla 100 synthesizers can be found at the Ernst Krenek Institut in Krems, Austria. During an artist-in residency program, Mario Verandi explored the endless sound possibilities of this rare and extraordinary instrument. The result is his 'Eight Pieces For The Buchla 100 Series,' a journey into experimental minimal electronic music. Mario Verandi is an Argentinean-born composer, musician and producer living in Berlin. With an extensive artistic career, Mario Verandi's works are wide-ranging and include electroacoustic and experimental music, music in modern classical and ambient style, live electronic performances as well as sound installations and music for dance, radio and theater. He has also collaborated with several musicians and visual artists. He has performed in several prestigious European festivals including Märzmusik (Berlin), Multiphonies GRM (Paris) and Donaueschinger Musiktage. His works have been awarded in the Prix Ars Electronica Awards (Linz), European Bell Days Composition Prize (ZKM, Karlsruhe), Bourges Electroacoustic Music Competition (France), Stockholm Electronic Art Awards (Sweden) and is included in the Essex Collection of Latin American Art.

Adriano Vincenti is known from Macelleria Mobile Di Mezzanotte, Cronaca Nera, L'Amara, Pain Injection and many more. Paolo Bandera is known from Iugula-Thor, Sigillum S and more. You can't speak of industrial music without mentioning the cassette tape. The tape was an essential format in the formative years of the experimental, industrial underground, and has remained a significant factor within the post-industrial scenes ever since. Where right now the cassette tape is going through some kind of fetishized hipster-revival in other scenes, in industrial, experimental and noise music it never died. The tape was a revolutionary format for Paolo Bandera as well, who captured his first musical experiments on tape during the early '80s. He would go on to create pioneering works of extreme electronics with Sigillum S, embracing new technology as it became available. But never forgetting his love for the tape format: "the elaborate pleasure of manually working on recording cassettes and preparing exquisite packaging has never disappeared for me." This album is a tribute to that mighty format. On the initiative on Adriano Vincenti, the two have created a homage that unites a more modern medium and technology with the traditional methodology and technology of cassette tapes. In the truest traditions of the industrial underground, the album borrows, cannibalises and adapts material from others - for example Maurizio Bianchi and Metadrive - to create experimental sounds all their own. The history of the industrial underground is heavily present in the source material: the oldest recordings are from the mid-'80s.The result? An album of experimental, challenging and even adventurous industrial electronics. Dubbing this noise or power electronics or any other of the many subgenres of industrial is impossible: there is a little bit of everything on 'Ossido Di Cromo.' Ultimately, the album can be described as a throwback to an era before industrial electronics had fragmented to dozens of smaller niches; this is experimental...

Here, as Andr begins to fiddle with a korg ms20 synth (he never told where he found the money to afford it) and dreams of exquisites performances, in another room, Hans tries to write his wildest nightmares to exorcise them. Marianne decides to introduce the future band to one of her lovers: Marc Berron, a young arrogant and rich kid blessed with a perfect ear. He helps them to slow down their drugs issues and take a new direction: to play a cold and personal music in pop format but with a feeling of urgency which caracterized young berliners. So he kidnaps them in his own studio for several weeks to experiment, give feelings and eventually find Violence Conjugale's definitive sound.Think French 80's minimal / synth wave / Charles De Goal / Guerre Froide.
