Tír Na Nog are an Irish folk duo formed in Dublin in 1969 by Leo O'Kelly and Sonny Condell. They are often considered one of the first progressive folk bands and are often compared to other artists like Nick Drake or groups like Pentangle. Their music consists primarily of original compositions, drawing on strong Celtic roots and typically featuring intricate acoustic guitar playing and tight harmony vocals. From 1971 to 1973, Tír Na Nog recorded three studio albums to critical acclaim. On September 19, 1973, O'Kelly and Condell performed at the Church of Our Lady in Bremen, which was recorded by Radio Bremen at the time and can now be heard fully remastered here on CD.

'Transmissions', recorded at the height of their powers, comprises recordings made for radio broadcasts. Using the latest audio technology, Mega Dodo removed the presenter spoken voiceovers to present a more enjoyable listening experience.Side one features six songs recorded in the studio and includes their unique reading of Bob Dylan's 'Maggie's Farm.' Side two was recorded in concert and shows why Tir na nOg was such an in-demand live attraction.
