Mon : Eye
The Mon is the solo project by Urlo, best known as the lead vocalist, bassist, synth player and founder of the heavy psych italian band Ufomammut. Where Ufomammut creates mind-expanding, heavy psychedelic, almost other-dimensional sounds, The Mon by comparison is far more intimate, looking inward: it builds layers of brooding sounds which sometimes unfurl at a glacial pace and other times lurch with rhythmic propulsion, each piece distinct, densely packed, and all-consuming in their evocative atmospheres. 'Eye' is the second album of The Mon and it's more introspective and dense, built around electronic soundscapes and acoustic atmospheres. The album features several special guests: Steve Von Till (Neurosis), Colin H. Van Eeckhout (Amenra), Sarah Pendleton (Subrosa, The Otolith) and David W. (White Hills). Comes on black and red 180 gram vinyl with a handprinted cover. Includes download code.
