Land, Harold : Damisi
First time reissue of Harold Land's classic LP 'Damisi,' recorded in Los Angeles for Bob Shad's Mainstream Records and released in 1972. Featuring Buster Williams (b), Ndugu (ds), Bill Henderson (keys) and Oscar Breashear (tp) the album was recorded at a crucial time when Land was shifting to a more spiritual sound. The session is a superb mix of funk and modal jazz and features the monster groove 'In The Back, In The Corner, In The Dark' as well as the deep, meditative track 'Pakistan.' The album is reissued in its original gatefold sleeve adding never-seen session photos, with newly remastered audio and a 2-page insert including new liner notes by Kevin Le Gendre.
Toimitusaika n. 2-3 viikkoa.

Land, Harold : Choma (burn)
Digitally remastered edition. This was made by a fine small jazz group operating in the early '60s, co-led by saxophonist Harold Land and vibes player Bobby Hutcherson. They released records under Bobby's name for Blue Note and under Harold's for Cadet and Mainstream. Based on the West Coast, Harold was one of the best players of his generation. An integral member of the Max Roach and Clifford Brown group, he made his own records before joining Gerald Wilson's big band in the early '60s. He joined up with Bobby Hutcherson in 1967 and for the next five years they made a series of outstanding albums.

Land, Harold : A new shade of blue
Recorded in 1971 in Los Angeles, 'A New Shade Of Blue' by Harold Land was produced by Bob Shad. The album is nothing but a Harold Land - Bobby Hutcherson Quintet album in disguise. This quintet recorded a handful of marvelous albums between 1967 and 1971 mainly under the Bobby Hutcherson name on Blue Note but they recorded one album on Chess and two for Mainstream Records. A New Shade of Blue, recorded in Los Angeles where the quintet was based, is one of their best albums and has never been reissued before.
