Kappaleet

It didn’t take long for Brooklyn, NY’s KRALLICE to get notoriety. Initially formed because of a desired collaboration between notorious avant-garde shredder Mick Barr and technical guitar wizard Colin Marston, for both musicians to explore a more black metal terrain with their music, KRALLICE was originally supposed to be a one-off kind of sporadic project for both musicians to create an album, with vocals (which both musicians weren’t even used to), with an actual band, and with the uncertainty that there would be any more albums following the self-titled debut. That thought would quell quickly enough as KRALLICE immediately became a functioning band, playing shows along with their debut garnering critical acclaim all across the board through many prominent media outlets and immediately, KRALLICE would become a one-of-akind act within extreme metal. A band unlike anything the scene has befallen upon. And it wouldn’t take long for the inspiration to come full-on, as the creative surge coming from KRALLICE would accelerate as the band continued to write and immediately would conjure material that would make their epic undertaking “Dimensional Bleedthrough” come out only a year after their debut. “Dimensional Bleedthrough” nonetheless would raise even more eyebrows and it came to a point where KRALLICE would eventually become the most recognized musical outlet out of all of Mick Barr and Colin Marston’s other musical endeavors. Two musicians who have already had a pedigree in progressive/technical/avant-garde music/metal prior to KRALLICE even forming. And now with KRALLICE’s third album “Diotima”, the band have undoubtedly released their darkest, heaviest, most-dense, hypnotizing, challenging and accomplished album to date, a turning point album for KRALLICE if there ever was one. The album the band themselves are the most satisfied with and the album (in every aspect possible, from the playing, the performances, and ultimately the production) in which will even more solidify KRALLICE’s importance as one of the most prominent and unique extreme metal bands and exports from America today.
