(Songs about Song and Singer) In the 1960’s Tormis studied the folklore and ways of using it in his music. This series for female chorus was compiled in 1971. Its different parts are dedicated to the folklorists that Tormis symphatized at that time. This publication is the Estonian version (available also in English under the title Songs of Singing and the Songster) and the songs are: 1. Laula, kuni elad / Sing Out so Long as You Shall Live – 2. Lauliku lapsepoli / The Songster’s Childhood (for female chorus and soloist) – 3. Laulud tööl öpitud / Songs Learned at Work – 4. Kurb laulik / The Sad Songster – 5. Uhtelaulmine / Singing Together
